Masquerade Online Registration for Setsucon 2025 will Open Fall 2024
Form Available at Bottom of the Page

Thank you for your interest in being a part of our Masquerade Showcase! Check out our rules and policies below and take the time to read them carefully before submitting your application. If you have any questions, please contact our Masquerade Coordinator via the Contact Form.

Masquerade online applications will be open from September 26th, 2023 until January 23rd, 2024. Applications will also be available day-of convention prior to the Masquerade Practice Session. Setsucon reserves the right to end the application period early if there is an overflow of applicants. Masquerade entrants must be registered for the convention prior to being allowed to enter into the Masquerade. Due to the nature of our event, we will not be having categories for novice, journeyman, and craftsman in this particular contest.

General Rules

Setsucon is so excited to see your amazing performance! Make sure to familiarize yourself with the rules before applying.

  • Each group or individual participating in a skit is responsible for completing the Masquerade entry form and submitting it before the specified deadline.
  • Only one submission per group or individual please. The person submitting the form will be our contact for the group or individual.
  • All participants must be registered for Setsucon before they will be allowed to enter in the Masquerade.
  • Online submissions will receive an email confirming whether or not they are approved for the contest; however, attendance at the practice session is still mandatory.
  • There will be a time limit of 5 minutes for each skit. There will be a minute before and after the skit if time is needed to setup or take down props.
  • Scripts must be sent in with your Masquerade entry form. This ensures the material that will be presented in front of the audience will be suitable for all ages (not to exceed PG-13). Remember, Setsucon is a family friendly convention; young children may be attending the Masquerade.
  • Judges will not see the scripts prior to the event so as to not give any unfair advantages. However, the Masquerade Coordinator will be reading and approving the scripts.
  • If you stray from your script and have any inappropriate material your group will be disqualified.
  • Preparing an mp3 file or link with the desired audio is strongly recommended, but not necessary. All audio accompaniments be brought to the Masquerade practice session.
  • There will be a mandatory practice for all participants in the Masquerade before the event is held. Badges will be checked and performance order will be determined during the practice session. If skit participants are not present for this practice, their skit will not be allowed to perform in the Masquerade.
  • Cosplays must comply with the Cosplay Policy.

Masquerade Application

Please complete the below application to the best of your ability and as complete as possible. This application, and the contents held within, shall be used by our Masquerade Coordinator to review your submission to our Masquerade. Please ensure that you read all policies and information ahead of applying, as submitting an application binds you to these policies.

On behalf of the Setsucon staff, thank you for your interest in this showcase, and we look forward to seeing your creative performance.
